Change barcode size

Can I change the size of the barcode?
I have a card from our library with an ITF barcode on it. The barcode is only 25 mm wide and 10 mm high. The scanners at the library can't read the code generated by the app because it's too big.
Holding it further away isn’t an option either, since the scanners are permanently mounted on a table and face the table.
