my-tmux-history.sh

temp_file=$(mktemp)

tmux capture-pane -p -S - > "$temp_file" # captures entire history
tmux new-window "$EIDTOR $temp_file; rm $temp_file"

tmux.conf

bind -r e run-shell "my-tmux-history.sh" 

Note

In tmux.conf either use absolute path of my-tmux-history.sh or make sure the script is in $PATH
