Auto-Upload Media Organization

Hey, it'd be great if apps could organize auto-upload by sorting pics and vids into date-based subfolders—like Photos/2025/ and Videos/2025/, with toggles for year and (optionally) month organization (e.g., Photos/2025/11/). Just like Nextcloud's Android app; it'd keep massive libraries way less messy.

Auto-upload dumps all phone photos/vids into one (two) folder. Fine for a few, but with hundreds/thousands over years?

yes, cool idea. immich calls such a feature storage template https://docs.immich.app/administration/storage-template/

you mean the mobile apps in the first place, right?

Yes, that seems like a more advanced version of what Nextcloud has (maybe I should consider using Immich :)). As far as I know, Nextcloud doesn't have the option to change anything in the administration (at least not without plugins); you only have the option to upload images to subfolders in the mobile client, such as YYYY, YYYY/MM, or YYYY/MM/DD, which is also not bad and quite simple.

I also want this feature. For me best works Photos/YYYY/MM/filename.ext
