[NRG#3 Proposal] Semaphore v4 in Noir

Summary

I aim to bring Semaphore v4 to Noir in order to increase the privacy-preserving ZK applications in Noir ecosystem.
For achieving the objective, I will implement the ZK circuits in Noir and the UltraPlonk verifier for Semaphore v4.
Also, I will implement Semaphore SDK by using the NoirJS library and UltraPlonk backend for compiling the circuits and generating proofs.

I will provide the following deliverables:

• Implementing a ZK circuits of the Semaphore v4 in Noir by referencing the existing ZK circuit of the Semaphore v4 in Circom.
• Testing and benchmarking
• Implementing a Semaphore SDK for Noir
• Documentation

I've been a smart contract developer for 6+ years, implementing a smart contract in Solidity with Foundry, Hardhat on EVM chains.
I'm also a ZK developer, implementing a ZK circuit in Noir, Circom, zkVM (i.e. SP1, RISC Zero) and integrate these ZK (Zero-Knowledge) implementation with a smart contract on blockchain.

Timeline and Deliverables

For the first month:

• Implement the ZK circuit of the Semaphore v4 in Noir
• Implement the test for the ZK circuit.
• Integrate UltraPlonk-based proof verification
• Testing and benchmarking

For the second month:

• Implement a Semaphore v4 SDK for Noir
• End-to-end testing and benchmarking
• Write the documentation
