I haven't come across this board yet. A quick google reveals the datasheet: Looks like the chip support 2x 8-bit ports (powering up to 8 relays each port). Yes, a few simple I2C writes and you'll be able to control this from a MicroPython. The chip is an I/O expander, and they would have wired it up so each bit represents a relay. Buy it and we'll help you craft the I2C calls. |

Could you please tell me if it is necessary to supply power in addition to the I2C interface power? The power indicator lights up after only the I2C interface is connected. |

hey, has anyone controlled an XL9535 I2C relay board before? i'm not enough of a programmer to figure it out (yet).
tried looking at esphome/esphome#5710 which (seems to) implement this board in ESPhome

do i need to do anything other than write to a register to turn on a relay? a short list of hints i need to do/research would be really much appreciated :)
