I think the biggest problem, beyond just the normal issues that any client-side anti cheat has, would be getting game developers to actually use this. Especially when BattlEye, VAC, and EAC all support Linux in one way or another. A more impactful thing for the OGC to do might be to try and steer developers toward server side anti-cheat and server-authoritative netcode which would not require any anti-cheat on the client. |

I am not an expert by any means but it seems since the anti-cheats are in a constant arms race, the only way forward is addressing the root issue which is the way multiplayer works in such games. Chasing the perfect anti-cheat seems to be a huge waste of time with nothing of value to get |

I’d like to get your opinion on creating an anti-cheat system, or at least a shared base library for anti-cheat functionality.
This question comes up because many modern games rely on some form of anti-cheat, and it might be useful to explore whether a common foundation makes sense.
I’d also be happy to help with this effort, although I don’t have prior experience developing anti-cheat systems or doing low-level OS-related coding.
