touchpad on Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Intel gen.1 working partially up to kernel 6.12

I was very pleased, that the alsa module for integrated CometLake audio has been already fixed in 6.12 kernel.
There remains just the one piece of HW to have the laptop completely compatible with OL9 and it is the touchpad.
It is partially working - I can tap, click (sometimes I need to repeat it twice or more) and scroll but the drag related functionality was not working even after upgrading libinput to 1.25.0

After loading fedora live 40 kernel 6.8.5-301.fc40.x86_64 to my Oracle Linux 9 system with Gnome, the touchpad is working as expected.

What kernel were you using when it didn't work?

It didn't work with any kernels installed/upgraded with OL9.5.
Eg. these ones have been installed as updates:

Due to missing full audio (including microphone) I compiled my custom one from Oracle repository just to give it a chance. By "custom" I mean, that I cut off some unneeded features, like AMD support eg.
I cannot remember but I downloaded the source probably from yum repository. And it should be UEK. I'd neet to dig deeper in history to be precise. Anyway the related Makefile in /usr/src/kernels/ directory shows this

To help us know what is needed to give you that audio support, please attach your /boot/config-CUSTOMKERNELVERSION file so we can take a look at that part (since we can compare that directly to the Oracle kernels). That part should be easy to enable.

Ok, once reviewing the above dmesg output I've suddenly realized what I couldn't see before - the conflict between builtin psmouse and loadable rmi drivers:
so this fixed the issue:
sudo grubby --update-kernel=/boot/vmlinuz-5.15.0-306.177.4.1.el9uek.x86_64 --args="psmouse.proto=bare"
Edit: (rather use --args="psmouse.synaptics_intertouch=0")

Maybe it will work on the custom kernel as well.
Edit1: The touchpad is working without need to tweak kernel params with compiled UEK kernel 6.13
Edit2: The audio is working on 6.13 after adding (at least) these two modules to .config:

Yes, the touchpad is working with the argument on the 6.12 kernel as well. But as I've mentioned before, I've upgraded libinput to 1.25 including quirks, so I cannot garantee that it would work on the stock system with older libinput (1.19?), too.

Small correcture: the more appropiate argument over psmouse.proto=bare is psmouse.synaptics_intertouch=0 as with the first one, the interface is recognized as PS/2 mouse and thus there is no config option for touchpad there in the gnome settings and one cannot adjust settings like 2 finger scrolling eg. The middle click emulation on touchpad is disabled in either case, but I suppose it's not kernel related.

Either 'middle click' or 'middle click emulation' can be configured via libinput (quirks), so I consider the touchpad problems fixed (at least for me).
