This policy needs minor adjustments if I remember correctly:

The link scared the bah jeesus out of me, which started me in a different direction. It's not quite up to dealing with rhel/centos 5 but it is still a step in the right direction.

Have you started using check_package_updates instead of check_yum? The selinux thing is an issue but if we could move away from it the issue would go away for my parts :)

I suggest we deprecate the package, because it is being provided in epel as nagios-plugins-check-updates

If no objections, i remove it at some point myself.
