Long term goal for this package

I wanted to use this topic to start a discussion about the long term goal for this package.

As a dev which would like to implement this package is production projects in the long term I need to have some confidence in the packages I use. I usually work on projects which will be supported for 5 to 10 years, and there are a lot of project like this. If I choose to use a package, it is important for me to know what to expect for the long term.

First of all, is the intent of this package to eventually support the complete server side MCP spec?

It's not feasible for all my projects to use Redis (can't go into detail now), are there plans to support MariaDB or other database providers?

If the goal is to support the whole MCP spec for the long term, I am open to contributing, but it would be better if there were some coordination and a roadmap for the status of the changes, and which version they will be released.
