In #6082, we added a new component to be mounted to navigation bar by plugins/apps. Currently, it renders connected data sources sorted by their names.

Describe the solution you'd like

For a data source, it is better to organize them based on type when rendering so that it's easier for users to search and make selections.

Describe alternatives you've considered

Keep current logic to render the data source options
