Brian H - Seattle DOT

  • 1st step (SMART Stage 1)Translate existing asset data into CDS, work being done by CurbIQ

SMART Stage 2: What are your big aspirations and goals? - San Jose

Elias K - SJ-DOT

  • Started digitization using simple tools prior to CDS

  • CDS allowed for increased efficiency

  • Aspiring to scale project beyond pilot with or without stage 2 SMART funding

  • Stage one will help to establish data as a decision making tool

  • Hoping to create dynamic pricing model based on demand

  • Data analysis will be used to gain support for dynamic pricing

  • Hoping to improve driver experience, safety and support city environmental goals

Halifax - data storage

  • Data has been collected but struggling with how to maintain it

  • Much effort needed for training and development of workflows to support ongoing maintenance of data

Q & A

Rick N - UMOJO

  • As digitization of curbs gets underway, issues are uncovered that are difficult to model.

  • Cities commonly request data on things that are not fully supported in current version of CDS. Example: mapping of curb activity like double parking by curb zone

Michael S - OMF

  • Access to data leads cities to ask new questions
