Unexpected GitHub comment posted under my account while investigating an issue

Hi,

I’m documenting an unexpected behavior I encountered while investigating an issue:

What happened

While I was trying to understand and (if possible) reproduce the issue, a comment appeared under my GitHub account on an unrelated pull request:

The comment contains content that looks like a potential “fix”, but:

• I did not manually write or submit this comment
• I did not intend to interact with that PR at all
• It is unrelated to the issue I was investigating

Why I’m posting this

Before deleting or editing anything, I wanted to document this clearly and check if:

• anyone else has experienced something similar
• there is any known explanation for this kind of cross-thread activity

Context

• I was actively working on the issue linked above
• I was exploring ways to reproduce it (including inspecting build-related behavior)
• No intentional interaction with PR update summary to auto #1 took place

Notes

• I consider the comment on PR update summary to auto #1 to be unintended and not reliable
• I plan to clean it up, but wanted to document the situation first for transparency

From what I understand from GitHub’s documentation:

• GitHub Apps and OAuth apps can act on behalf of a user
• Personal access tokens can be used to perform API actions such as posting comments

So technically, it is possible for a tool or integration to post a comment under a user account without a direct manual action at that moment.

However, in this case, I did not intentionally trigger any action on that PR, which makes this behavior unexpected from my perspective.

If anyone has insights or has seen similar behavior, I’d appreciate it.
