Hello, I'm Dan! I work at Dynatrace as an Open Source Architect helping to build the open source observability community. As part of that effort I am a Maintainer of OpenTelemetry JS, a member of the OpenTelemetry Governance Committee, and a member of the W3C Distributed Tracing Working Group. |

Hey ! My name is Valentin, i currently work at reelevant as a Product Manager. In the past i worked as CTO as @keymetrics where i built a monitoring solution for nodejs, hence my interest in OpenTelemetry (and Opencensus before) since the project started in 2019 when i joined the JS SIG as an approver. Even if my daily job doesn't directly contributing on OTel, i like to work on it on my free time :) I will be happy to anwser any questions or guides new users, please reach out to me ! Hey, I'm Naseem. I work at Transit, I mostly work on the infra/ops side of things (GCP, k8s, CI/CD, monitoring) but also on some of our backend typescript services. I've taken a keen interest from early-on in OpenTelemetry as I was in search of some auto-instrumentation to get going with tracing. I eventually stumbled upon OpenCensus which offered some decent auto instrumentation, but was told by @mayurkale22 to keep an eye out for OpenTelemetry and well here we are :) |

Hi all! I work at Care.com and my work centers primarily around building out the platforms for GraphQL+NodeJS and slowly learning Go (as I go 🙄 ) to help build out that platform as well. 😁 I am getting up to speed on OpenTelemetry and the quickly changing landscape of Otel-JS (I was on 0.11.0 and now it's at 0.18.0 and onward to 1.0.0-rc! woo!) In the past I worked at HomeAway (now Vrbo/Expedia) on the Node Platform team and I was exposed a little to OpenTracing, Jaeger, and Zipkin. I would like to continue to learn about OpenTelemetry and hopefully gain enough experience and knowledge to contribute to the efforts around GraphQL and NodeJS. It'd be super awesome to help with issues and help update the documentation so that others who are trying to get up to speed are able to read the most current docs. I look forward to learning and contributing! :) |

Ahh the power of search. I created a new discussion before seeing this, I'll copy my comment here as I don't see an option to delete my original post. Maybe this discussion should get pinned? Hello! I'm a member of the https://github.com/nodejs/package-maintenance group who is looking for a new project to get involved with. When asking about projects that might need some support, OpenTelemetry was suggested to me. Wanted to introduce myself and see if there was a place to slot in to begin helping. So far this week I've been reading through the (quite thorough!) Contributing docs, reading the OT spec, watching some of the recorded meetings, and generally trying to get up to speed on the JS SIG and the work being done. Previously I was contributing to Express, and was an early member of the Express Triage team that the Package Maintenance working group had kickstarted in that org. I took a year off amid the pandemic, and am now back looking for a project that is receptive to help. If someone has the time and desire, I'm happy to chat either here on github or on a call. I'm currently looking at |
