Forking NX to cover custom remote caches

As the NX team seems to be committed to make existing features behind a paywall, I am looking if someone has already created a reasonable fork? I do not want to do this but this kind of behaviour makes NX unreliable for business. We chose NX because it is open source meaning that companies cannot extort moeny by changing pricing after we have committed large part of our business to it. To keep NX in our core we must not rely on paid features.

I do not have problem with NX team selling additional services like the cloud or powerpack with ease-of-life functionalities but remote caching in our own private storage is essential. This is not about convinience, it is security issue. We need to be able to control our own data and our own business.
