  • Fine-tuning TinyLlama for Conversational AI**

Introduction

This code demonstrates fine-tuning the TinyLlama ("TinyLlama/TinyLlama-1.1B-Chat-v1.0") model for conversational AI tasks using your custom conversation dataset stored in JSON format ("wifuwork.json"). The fine-tuned model can then be used to generate responses to user prompts, enabling you to build your own conversational AI application.

Key Concepts

  • Fine-tuning: Adapting a pre-trained model like TinyLlama to a specific domain or task using your dataset.
  • Conversation Dataset: A collection of text dialogues, where each entry consists of an input prompt and a corresponding response.
  • Tokenization: Converting text into sequences of numerical identifiers (tokens) that the model can understand.
  • Data Collator: Prepares batches of data for training, ensuring proper formatting and handling.
  • Trainer: Manages the fine-tuning process, including training loop, optimizer, and evaluation.

Instructions

  1. Prerequisites:

    • Install required libraries: transformers, torch, and json. You can use pip install transformers torch json in your terminal.
    • Download the TinyLlama model from the Hugging Face Model Hub (https://huggingface.co/TinyLlama/TinyLlama-1.1B-step-50K-105b). You can use transformers.AutoModelForCausalLM.from_pretrained("TinyLlama/TinyLlama-1.1B-Chat-v1.0") in your code to load it directly.
  2. Prepare Your Dataset:

    • Create a JSON file named "wifuwork.json" with the following structure:
    {
     "conversations": [
       {
         "instruction": "Convert the given code snippet into the specified format.",
         "input": "Hey, what's up?",
         "output": {
           "responses": [
             "Hey there! I'm full of energy today, ready to take on whatever comes my way! What about you?",
             "Hey! I'm feeling super pumped, like I could conquer the world! What's going on with you?",
             "Yo! I'm in high spirits, feeling like nothing can bring me down! How about you, ready to seize the day?",
             "Sup! I'm all fired up and ready for action! What's up in your world?",
             "Hey hey! I'm feeling lively and cheerful, like a ray of sunshine! What's the latest?"
           ]
         },
         "text": "This code snippet provides a set of responses to the input query \"Hey, what's up?\" The responses are designed to convey a high-spirited, cheerful, and casual tone.",
         "emotion": "high-spirited, cheerful, casual"
       },

    • Ensure your dataset reflects the type of conversations you want your AI to handle.
  3. Run the Script:

    • Save the code as a Python file (e.g., fine_tune_tinyllama.py).

    • Execute the script from your terminal using python fine_tune_tinyllama.py.

    • The script will:

      • Fine-tune the TinyLlama model on your dataset.
      • Save the fine-tuned model and tokenizer to the "fine_tuned_model_tinyllama" directory.
  4. Use the Fine-tuned Model:

    • The script also includes functions for generating responses to prompts (generate_response) and testing the model (test_model). You can modify these functions for your specific application.

Example Usage (after training):

from fine_tuned_model_tinyllama import AutoModelForCausalLM, AutoTokenizer, generate_response

# Load the fine-tuned model and tokenizer
model = AutoModelForCausalLM.from_pretrained("fine_tuned_model_tinyllama")
tokenizer = AutoTokenizer.from_pretrained("fine_tuned_model_tinyllama")

# Generate a response to a prompt
prompt = "What's the weather like today?"
response = generate_response(prompt, tokenizer, model)
print(f"Prompt: {prompt}")
print(f"Generated Response: {response}")

Additional Considerations

  • Experiment with different hyperparameters in the TrainingArguments (e.g., number of epochs, batch size) to optimize performance.
  • Explore more advanced techniques like transfer learning or multi-task learning if you have additional datasets or tasks.
  • Consider using a validation set to monitor model performance during training and prevent overfitting.
  • For deploying your conversational AI, evaluate frameworks like TensorFlow.js or PyTorch.js for web-based applications or mobile app development using frameworks like React Native or Flutter.

Getting Your Own AI Working

To create your own conversational AI using a different model, follow these general steps:

  1. Choose a Model: Select a pre-trained model suitable for your task (e.g., dialogue generation). Consider factors like model size, task-specific performance, and available resources.
  2. Prepare Your Dataset: Tailor your dataset to the model's domain and desired functionalities. Ensure sufficient data for effective training.
  3. Fine-tune the Model: Adapt the pre-trained model to your dataset using techniques like transfer learning or fine-tuning.
  4. Integrate the Model: Integrate the fine-tuned model into your application using appropriate libraries and frameworks.
  5. Evaluate and Refine: Continuously
