Allow us to use BB Code similar to forums. Image Hosting

I have run my own image hosting service ever since forums were popular. I hated using other image hosting because eventually they shut down. So i run my own image hosting service and upload my own pictures in it and it gives me BB codes to use on forums. This is useful because i don't have to depend on other image hosting services and my pictures have been online for years.

Can you give us the ability to use BB codes on Nostr? This would also huge amounts of save space on relays if the images/videos where hosted on image hosting websites.

Forums use BB Codes and it saves a crazy amount of space for administrators.

Why do you need BBCode to embed images on nostr? Most clients parse urls and render them automatically.

BB codes are extremely useful because it has tiny thumbnails which links to the bigger picture.

When you upload multiple pictures the image hosting website gives you multiple BB codes which use multiple thumbnails which individually links to the bigger picture.

This is extremely useful when you want to showcase your artwork.

It would also save space for the relays as both the thumbnail & image would not be hosted on their relay. Only the text would be saved on the relay.

Here is an example below of how it looks on a forum. I would assume it would look the same on a Nostr client.

I can click on each thumbnail and it links to my website showing the bigger size image.
Alot of images are 1MB or bigger so hosting them on my website which is my own image hosting service that only i use is better.

Gotcha, in theory this is handled using the imeta tag, which can provide multiple urls for the same image without cluttering up the human-readable content field: https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/blob/master/92.md

I just realized that nostr has markdown. I am new to markdown.
I like markdown it seems the same as bb codes.

The issue is markdown linked images do not work on nostr.

Many image hosting websites already offer different type of markdowns for images.

But most markdowns codes don't work on nostr.
I don't really need bb codes if markdown is fixed.
