Hola @mikeal!

Let's do this; we are planning to have a NodeConf mid-late 2019 in Medellín, Colombia. We have a great venue (same as JSConf Colombia), and we can start getting sponsorship. What do you think? Any advice for us!

Let's bring an exclusive Node event to 🇨🇴!!

Not a ton of advice, ya'll have done a bunch of events already so there isn't much advice left to give :)

I've created a team and a repo and made the team the admin of the repo. Let me know when you accept the invite to the org so I can make a manager of the team :)

@mikeal going through docs, we should keep this NodeConf Medellin instead of NodeConf Colombia? what do you think? Personally, NodeConf Colombia works better for us (take into example Brazil, Argentina, and Chile)

Are you running this alongside JSConf Colombia? In that past we've had conferences that are lined up like this use the name of the country for continuity.

TBH, the main reason for the city > country thing is so that smaller events can't "land grab" the name of the country. Since you are already doing JSConf Colombia, this isn't much of a concern.

@mikeal we are trying to make this a separate event and in the future be able to host it in other cities, so NodeConf Colombia works great for us

@mikeal can you invite the following organizers? I tried but it seems I don't have access.

Jumping in... why in Medellín... again (JSConf)?

Btw, I have nodeconf.co because I wanted to organize it eventually :p

The idea is to organize the conference taking advantage of all the experience, venue and connections we already have from JSConfCO, that's why we are organizing in Medellin
