Software developers and designers are constantly searching for ways to optimize their daily workflow: to increase productivity, automate mundane tasks and increase overall efficiency on the job. Thankfully we have no shortage of software that aims to help us achieve optimum output.

My top several Mac apps (in no particular order) that I use on a daily basis:

General Workflow

  • iTerm2 + zsh + Oh my Zsh — replacement for Terminal and extensions to speed up terminal workflow

  • 1Password — passwords, credit cards, and other secure documents and notes.
  • Notion — tons of stuff: project planning, meeting notes, public documents.
  • Tadam — simple Pomodoro timer
  • HazeOver — turn distractions down and focus on your current task.
  • Rectangle — window management application
  • Bartender
  • Itsycal — a tiny menu bar calendar
