What

We need to add a link to the community backlog from different sections of the service manual.

Why

So that users know what to do if they can't find the thing they are looking for.

Done when

  • Created a design based in UR and data
  • Content review
  • Code review
  • Published

Top 5 visited pages:

  1. /design-system - 4,034 (25.4%)
  2. /home - 3,178 (20.0%)
  3. /design-system/components - 2,828 (17.8%)
  4. /content 1,912 (12.0%)
  5. /design-system/styles - 1,829 (11.5%)

User research insights

We know that people:

  • are not sure what to do next if they can't find the thing they are looking for
  • mostly use the left hand nav to look for things
  • sometimes use search to look for things

Design hypothesis

If we add a link to the community backlog to the places that people are looking for things
Then users will know what steps to take next if they can't find something

Prototype

Note: The 'community backlog' link goes to the service manual guidance page and not direct into GitHub.
