Feature Request: Control My Music Over the Home WiFi

1. Summary:

I'd really like to be able to control the music playing on my [Music Player Device, e.g., (old Tablet,old smartphone) from my phone or laptop when we're all on the same home WiFi. Basically, remote control for my music player.

2. Problem Statement:

Right now, if I'm playing music on my [Music Player Device], and I'm in another room or just don't want to get up, I have to physically go to the device to change the song, pause it, or turn it up or down.

• It's just annoying to have to get up every time.
• I don't want to use cloud-based stuff for this, just keep it local.
• I wish there was a simple way to control it from my phone.

3. Proposed Solution:

I think it would be awesome if we could add a feature that lets me:

• Control the basics: Play, pause, skip, volume.
• See what's playing: Show the song title and artist.
• Maybe even playlists: Pick playlists, shuffle, repeat.
• Use the home network: Just a simple way to send commands over my WiFi.
• Find the player easily: So I don't have to type in weird addresses.
• A simple way to use it: Like a webpage or a simple phone app.
• How it would work: The music player would listen for commands, and my phone/laptop would send them.
• Example: I'm playing music on my old phone , and I can pause it from my phone in the kitchen.
• It should be quick: No big delays when I press a button.

4. Rationale:

• It would make using my music player way easier.
• It's just a common sense thing to want.
• It keeps everything local, which is what I prefer.

5. Implementation Considerations:

• We'd need some network stuff: To send commands.
• Figuring out how to find the player: Automatically would be best.
• Testing: Making sure it works on different devices.
• I think it's pretty important: It would be a really useful feature.
• Should be doable: Doesn't seem super complicated.

6. Alternatives Considered:

• Using Spotify or something: I don't want to rely on the internet for this.
• Bluetooth: Doesn't reach far enough.

7. Additional Context:

• This would be perfect for people with dedicated music setups.
• Keep it simple!
