Task Description:

Propose a list of tasks that might be good for 4-5 hour hackathon. This can include

  • Technical (fixing bugs, creating extensions) - basic
  • More advanced technical problems, that a group, or more highly technical person could have impact on.
  • Non-Technical - using the tool, reporting back (user stories / classification stories you ask someone to follow)
  • Testing an environment install, and updating README & CONTRIBTING .mds

They need only be proposed right now we can test, and vet for appropriateness as a group.

  • an example might to 'add a source'. A source currently is the current page, Other sources that could be added are:

(classifications could be: sports, education, theatre).

We think you can add these in 4 or 5 hours especially leveraging existing code that takes current page.

We can think about pathway

  • framing - contribution to open projects rarely start with technical contribution, as we learn about a project. So we will do 45 min of User testing using this checklist. then move to setting up code, and contributing a source.
  • we can also encourage people who like UI testing keep doing that. people an also update README. etc as they learn to help the project be better for future contributors. More complicated tasks available (exampe from EAN of SAT questions)
    • Could be browser history, politically dangerous,
  • also blind output 'how would you use this, why, task lit' building class of examples
