It does work. User error on my part. If there is ANY confusion about what folder to drop the file in, just go to this PC > documents, and make the Power BI Desktop > Custom Connector Folders |

I've done each step exactly as described and downloaded the mez file and placed it in my custom connectors folder in the power bi desktop folder. However, when I open power bi I cannot see the connector.
