Find in files window in JetBrains PHPStorm disappears immediately after displaying

Your Distribution version: Release:        20.04

Steps to reproduce

Run PHPStorm
Call the "Find in files" dialog (Ctrl+Shift+F in my case)

WSL logs:

Expected behavior

Dialog window is displayed normally

Actual behavior

It disappears immediately after displaying.

Once in about 5-10 tries, it is shown normally but nothing specific in the log.

Never saw this issue in the native IDE environment or under VcXsrv X server.

This is a known issue (see #96 ). Some people have managed to find some temporary fixes listed in that thread, though they seem quite hit-and-miss.

I'm currently can't open a menu so the whole app becomes unusable. The menu disappears right after being displayed. In the taskbar, I see that the app window is being deactivated when the menu is displayed and this probably causes the menu to be closed.

Yes, I have the same problem now. Trying to use vcxsrv instead. But chrome under vcxsrv cannot use hardware acceleration.
