Originally referenced here: #9270

But this was closed without the requested feature being implemented. Right click and "remove from recent lists" works to remove one at a time, this isn't viable for users with say hundreds of instances open.

Desired behaviour would be to replicate shift select with multiple file deletes, as you can in the file browser.</issue_description>
