Code for Issue #38. It includes the assert code for azure and sample files for the users.

tests/README.md

+- assert.sh is the code used for the test functions needed for the test files.
+- main.sh is the file that initiates the tests
+- test.sh is an example file for testing the existence of resource groups in a subscription
+- test2.sh is an example file for testing the existence resources in a resource group


Please rename test.sh and test2.sh to a more descriptive file name.

This function results in the command line exit code always being 0. For example, running main.sh will always have exit code 0.

What is the reasoning for exporting the variable assignment here? Is this a requirement that jq introduces?

Since a resource always belongs to a resource group, the test for just a resource group is redundant / unnecessary.

The resource test operation is only for check the creation of a resource group only. The other test operation is for checking of resources especifically.

The dependency on jq just doesn't seem necessary. For example, the built-in Azure CLI query commands could achieve the same results. Here's an example:
