Support for Credential Manager Restore Credentials / device-transfer APIs #3824

Hi! AnkiDroid needs to support Google Play’s Zero-Tap Sign-In restoration requirement by April 2027, while also remaining compatible with F-Droid.
We noticed that GmsCore already has a play-services-identity-credentials module and declares device-transfer APIs, including ImportCredentialsForDeviceSetup and ExportCredentialsToDeviceSetup. However, these methods currently appear to return “not implemented” in IdentityCredentialApiService.
Is support for AndroidX Credential Manager’s Restore Credentials flow planned? In particular, could microG support creating, backing up/transferring, retrieving, and clearing restore credentials during device setup?
We are happy to help test or contribute if there is a preferred design or existing tracking issue.
