Many thanks for sharing your project Patrick.
After just 4 days of testing (with the mic hanging out of a window) I've now installed the system in our loft, with the mic hanging outside, protected from the rain by the overhanging roof. Its already recorded a few surprises, probably from birds just passing through on their way to the local RSPB reserve.
Being a little islander, living in the country formally known as Great Britain, I was finding the international common bird names a bit tedious. So I've edited the labels.txt file to remove the prefixes "eurasian", "european" & "common". Its certainly tidied up the charts.
I've just ordered a second set of parts so I can build another system. Initially this will be used to compare microphones and carry out other 'essential tinkering'.
I've also posted initial information in my blog/journal: https://captainbodgit.blogspot.com/2023/11/birdnet-pi-intro-install-use.html
