Pretty straightforward in that the snap for moonlight comes up with the error message saying it doesn't detect and hardware decoders. The appimage for it doesn't which got me looking into it and it appears it might have something to do with wayland.
To get around this I had to copy the desktop file from /var/lib/snapd/desktop/applications/moonlight_moonlight.desktop and paste it into ~/.local/share/applications and add DISABLE_WAYLAND=1 to the Exec= line. Then it launches and detects the hardware decoders no problem.
This might just be an issue for me using a really old graphics card though so maybe others don't run into the same issue, but I really like moonlight for the fact it lets some old hardware still be useful.
