In October we'll be making the Alpha release for Mautic 6.0. This precedes the Release Candidate by one month, and gives people time to test the upcoming release. Once the Release Candidate is tested then the General Availability will be released on 27th January 2025.

The release is called 'Orion' after the star constellation - our release themes are all based on constellations, with patch releases within them being stars from that constellation.

Our last releases have been Andromeda (5.1) and Alpheratz (5.1.1). Mirach (5.1.2) and Pleiades (5.2-RC) will be released on the same day or maybe the following day.

Here you can see the announcement for 5.1: https://www.mautic.org/blog/community/release-announcement-mautic-5-1-andromeda-edition

Here's the announcements for 5.0:
General Availability: https://www.mautic.org/blog/community/mautic-5-beyond-expectations-beyond-limits
Release Candidate: https://www.mautic.org/blog/community/announcing-mautic-5-release-candidate
Beta: https://www.mautic.org/blog/community/announcing-mautic-5-beta-now-available-testing

In order to find out what is being released in Mautic 6.0, you can review the merged PRs in the milestone here: https://github.com/mautic/mautic/pulls?q=is%3Amerged+is%3Apr+milestone%3A6.0+sort%3Aupdated-desc. Currently there are no merged PRs, but we have several in progress.

Feel free to ask in #t-product and/or in the PR itself if you aren't clear what the PR is doing, sometimes the title/descriptions are not so clear!

Please write the content in this Google Doc: https://docs.google.com/document/d/10GuRK3yggcK6wII88Pr9-5rf5dL26RtkAoJ_QaovRtA/edit?usp=sharing

Thanks!

That's super awesome @Amalearner - thanks for being willing to help contribute with this!

It would be worth chatting in #t-product on Slack to ask the developers/core team if there are other things that they want to get into the 6.0 release.

This release is a different one to all others because we're only going to be making patch releases - once we release 6.0 we immediately start working on 7.0, to help us catching up with Symfony releases. So basically, anything that needs to get into the 6.x release as a feature or breaking change must be merged in 6.0. We haven't released the announcement about this yet publicly. I'll ping you on Slack with the draft announcement for context and the link to the release timings.

Hi @Amalearner did you still want to work on this one? At present I am not seeing any content on the Google Doc so wasn't sure if you're still wanting to work on it.

Due to the lack of response and the release coming out today, I'm opening this out to other contributors.
