Azure

You'll need an Azure subscription to host various services that are created during the day. If you already have an Azure subscription, you can use that and skip this step (the costs for all the labs today is small).

If you don't already have Azure (or want your own subscription just for today), you can get a creditcard-free trial by following these steps.

We have limited numbers of trial codes and so you should only claim one if you need one. You can also sign-up for a trial using https://azure.microsoft.com/en-gb/free/, this gives you £150 credit but requires credit card details for verification purposes.

If you don't have an existing subscription and are not willing to use your credit card as a security verification, please go ahead.

1 - Get a Microsoft account

You'll need a Microsoft account to setup an Azure subscription. This can be an existing Outlook, Live, Hotmail etc account.

Please make sure your Microsoft matches these criteria. If either of these are true, create a new account using the steps below:

  • You must not use a School or Organisation account; it must be a personal Microsoft account.
  • You must not use an account that has already had an Azure trial associated with it in the past. If you do, you'll be asked to enter credit card details to start a 'pay as you go' subscription
  1. Go to http://aiday.info/MicrosoftAccount
  2. You can use an existing email address if you like or click 'Create new email address' to create a new address with Outlook.com
  3. Choose/enter an email address and password
  4. Click 'next' and follow the process.

2 - Get an Azure subscription

This section will give you a credit-card-free Azure trial with $100 of credit to use today and afterwards.

  1. Go to http://aiday.info/azurepass
  2. Click 'Claim your code'
  3. Make a note of the code that is shown, you'll only see this once
  4. Go to http://aiday.info/AzurePassRedeem
  5. Sign in with a 'Microsoft account' (i.e. Outlook.com, Hotmail.co.uk, Live.co.uk etc .....cannot be a school or organisation account)
  6. Enter the code obtained earlier in this section and click 'Claim promo code'
