Preconditions and environment

  • Magento version 2.4.x - All versions

Steps to reproduce

  1. Create a category with a sub category. Set Is Anchor - No for both
  2. Navigate to admin > Stores > Configuration > Catalog - Show Category Filter - No
  3. Navigate to frontend > Go to parent category and check for Shop By category filter

Expected result

No category layered navigation filter showing

Actual result

Category layered navigation filter is showing

Additional information

On parent category, set "is anchor" - Yes - Category Filter is hidden

Ideally the category shop by filter should not show.

catalog_category_view_type_default.xml adds block name="catalog.leftnav". I do not believe this block should be in the default category

Release note

No response
