Preconditions and environment

  • Magento version 2.4.5

Steps to reproduce

  1. First create a sub category under Default category, manually or via API, call it "Apples"
  2. Make a REST call to update the category name as described here:
    https://magento.redoc.ly/2.4.5-admin/tag/categoriesid#operation/PutV1CategoriesId
So, put to /V1/categories/{id}, and set the name to "Oranges".
    Reindex and clear cache

Expected result

Category name on front-end changed to "Oranges"
Category name on back-end changed to "Oranges"

Actual result

Category name on front-end changed to "Oranges"
Category name on back-end still is "Apples"
Even after flushing cache or running reindex scripts. The back-end keeps showing "Apples".
