WebTop USB is a Wi-Fi Wireless Access Point add-on device, which can be used in combination with certain SoftRF Editions, such as:

The WebTop USB provides a Web interface and data transport to:

  • monitor status of connected SoftRF device , and
  • change settings , and
  • deliver own position and air traffic data from the SoftRF device to a smartphone/tablet by UDP over Wi-Fi.

The WebTop USB is based upon third-party's hardware - LilyGO® T-Dongle product, which is available for purchase at more or less reasonable price.

This Espressif ESP32-S2 SoC based device contains a Type-A connector that can operate in USB-OTG mode:


There is a option to use the T-Dongle with a small GNSS module to feed it's NMEA data into USB port of connected SoftRF device.

Limitations

There is no support for:

  • a USB hub device
  • 'Hot Plug' operation
