Motivated by this discussion thread https://groups.google.com/a/google.com/g/ukm-team/c/N8d69MpDuQc 1. CL:3088637 modified the UKM source id, no longer deleted automatically, to resolve the null app id/url issue for the app usage UKM. 2. CL:3092848 exposes the interface MarkSourceForDeletion to delete the source id. The new requirement from the data team is to track app window sessions for more in-depth analysis. Modify the app install ukm, uninstall ukm and launch ukm to apply a new source id for each ukm event, and call MarkSourceForDeletion to free the ukm source id after emitting the ukm event. Modify the app usage ukm, to apply a new source id for each app window. and call MarkSourceForDeletion to free the app window source id when the app window is closed. Add FilesAppState as the type of `appState` and apply to places dealing with `appState`. Move dialog_type.js from foreground to common so the FilesAppState can depend on it without crossing from common to foreground. Remove the `opt_param` from `appUtil.updateAppState()` because the only place providing this argument was passing an empty string in app_state_controller.js. In file_manager.js it was reading back the `appState.params`, which is the results of `opt_param`, so removed this too. Flag is initially disabled, so the SWA is not presented to users. A new SystemAppType and manifest is used so that the audio "skin" of the app can have different icons and windowing scope. We initially use the same icons as the existing audio player Chrome app. To avoid colliding, a start url of `chrome://media-app/audio/` is used. This CL adds the app manifest with file handlers, and skips install of the old Chrome app to prevent it being added as a file handler. Since all the same files are supported (and it's a distinct "app" as far as file handlers are concerned), there doesn't seem to be a need for the extra complexity in file handler processing that was needed for Gallery. This CL replaces a comment in content_settings::CookieSettings with a thread-safety annotation enforced by clang. The CL also de-optimizes CookieSettings::OnCookiePreferencesChanged() so that its thread safety be statically checked. The old code was likely correct, but the cleverness wasn't worth it. The method is only called when a user preference changes, and the cleverness attempted to avoid acquiring an uncontended lock. This CL aims to make it easier to debug any future data races involving content_settings::CookieSettings. The ScopedKeepAlive got reset first, before the ScopedProfileKeepAlive. Since removing the browser process keepalive can cause teardown, it can cause the ChromeAppDelegate to get deleted. It causes a UaF because we try to access profile_keep_alive_ (a member field) *after* that. TESTED=In an asan build with DestroyProfileOnBrowserClose enabled, open this app [1], close all browser windows, then "Hide" the app's window. This causes browser shutdown without crashing. Currently, the FSA API will overwrite read-only files. The new behavior will reject createWritable() calls to read-only files with a new FileSystemAccessStatus::kNoModificationAllowed error, which maps to DOMExceptionCode::kNoModificationAllowed. The new error code provides more consistency with the behavior of trying to open a file which does not have read permissions. This case is not explicitly handled by the FSA API, but instead fails organically with a base::File::Error::FILE_ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED error, which maps to DOMExceptionCode::kNoModificationAllowed. Back in time when Hash dance was always used, there were: 1) A base interface class to construct and get the device identifier for Hash dance 2) Two children implementation classes, one for initial enrollment and another for FRE use case. At the moment, PSM is the source of truth for initial enrollment and its Hash dance device identifier child class has been removed accordingly. Therefore, we can refactor that base and child class into one single class for Hash dance for FRE only. This CL is making one class for Hash dance device identifier for FRE by merging the base and child class into one. Reland of crrev.com/c/3086051 with a fix (OR'ed in |is_debug| in base/allocator/BUILD.gn). We have observed significant memory regressions on processes where BRP is "disabled", because it wasn't fully disabled. Until now each process would always start in the BRP-enabled state, and switch to disabled state only once the process type is known. This CL reverses it. As a result, we're losing protection for pointers that point to early allocations. The difficult part of this CL was dealing with aligned alloc partition. It has to be separated into its own partition when BRP is enabled (unless "previous slot" configuration is used). When enable_runtime_backup_ref_ptr_control is on, such a separation has to occur upon enabling BRP -- this also means we don't have to create a dedicated aligned alloc partition in processes that never get BRP enabled. If BRP is enabled at init, such a separation has to occur at init as well. DCHECK_IS_ON adds further complexity, as it requires to make this separation at init, regardless of when/if BRP is enabled. This reverts commit 77e9679. Reason for revert: Likely cause of failure Step "browser_tests on Ubuntu-18.04" failing on builder "linux-chromeos-chrome" The failure is a crash in browser_tests. This failure is fairly but not perfectly consistent. In three of the last four runs on this bot, browser_tests failed with something in the NativeInputMethodEngineTest.EmojiSuggestion* suite. It's not always the same test that fails each time. Nevertheless, this is pretty indicative that nowadays something is wrong in this suite. This is the obvious candidate, submitted right when the test became mostly-failing. Here is the first failure as an example: Retrying 1 test (retry #0) [ RUN ] NativeInputMethodEngineTest.EmojiSuggestionDisabledReasonkUrlOrAppNotAllowed 2021-09-24T11:30:01.258384Z WARNING browser_tests[27592:27592]: [audio_manager_linux.cc(60)] Falling back to ALSA for audio output. … CrosState" This reverts commit 3895114. Reason for revert: likely cause of failures Step "chromeos_components_unittests on Ubuntu-18.04" failing on builder "Linux Chromium OS ASan LSan Tests (1)" The first run with the relevant failures: https://ci.chromium.org/ui/p/chromium/builders/ci/Linux%20Chromium%20OS%20ASan%20LSan%20Tests%20(1)/40730/overview The following tests consistently fail starting after this first run: CrosStateSenderTest.NotificationFeatureStateChanged CrosStateSenderTest.PerformUpdateCrosStateRetrySequence The first fails with this stack trace: --- [ RUN ] This reverts commit 37ea471. Reason for revert: Reverted CL is unrelated to the cited "reason for revert". Original change's description: > Revert "Privatise unnecessarily public current_input_method in" > > This reverts commit 77e9679. > > Reason for revert: > Likely cause of failure > Step "browser_tests on Ubuntu-18.04" failing on builder "linux-chromeos-chrome" > > The failure is a crash in browser_tests. > > Here is the first failure as an example: > Retrying 1 test (retry #0) > [ RUN ] NativeInputMethodEngineTest.EmojiSuggestionDisabledReasonkUrlOrAppNotAllowed > 2021-09-24T11:30:01.258384Z WARNING browser_tests[27592:27592]: [audio_manager_linux.cc(60)] Falling back to ALSA for audio output.
