Mandarin characters / font issue in the video screen

Hello,
My use case here is that I'm speaking English, and I want to display the translation in Mandarin (traditional chinese).
I have issues with the font. Attaching screenshot

What is strange is that the small text input is showing correct chinese characters, so the whole transcribe + translate flow seems to work exactly as expected.
But in the actual video screen, it shows weird encoded characters. I am familiar with Traditional Chinese and I have all the fonts I need installed on my mac.
I have set up the correct font in the properties (I tried various fonts that I always use for my video subtitles, for example Hannotate SC, Hanzipen SC, Apple LiGothic Medium.
I have also played with the "Writing system" setting. When I put to Traditional Chinese and press OK, but if I come back to the setting later on, the setting is back to "Any".

i doubt this has anything to do with the filter since it does show up propetly in the text source.

are you able to render chinese text that you write manually?

I am seeing this issue as well. I guess something related to the encoding, but I haven't found any setting on that.
