Compatibility issue with Angular 4

Various issues / warnings due to incompatibility with latest Angular 4

right now, we still have warnings, nothing is really blocking , so, just make sure that you installed animations with npm i --save @angular/animations , make sure also that you added import { BrowserAnimationsModule } from '@angular/platform-browser/animations'; in your appModule.
Next step is to wait new material release , I hope for soon,
