Currently, in the Getting Started section without shell access we link to the Community thread:

See line 49 in https://github.com/letsencrypt/website/blob/fb3a3fe186f65213fa14f99362caf1afb20283e8/content/en/getting-started.md (how do you get a "line view" without using "Blame" with Markdown objects?)

However, the certbot EFF page also has a page containing a list of hosting providers whether or not supporting LE. This page is also linked at the bottom of the Community thread (thats where I got it from in the first place).

I think the Certbot EFF page is great: it offers tabs, icons and the sorts. It has a search feature.

However, I don't think it's a great idea to keep this information on two places. I would like to say "At the same time", but I don't know if both pages are equal? The Certbot EFF page was updated a month ago, while the Community threads last update was March 20.

Therefore, I would like to suggest we change the URL from the Getting Started page from the Community thread to the Certbot EFF hosting provider page. I also would like to suggest to edit the Community thread to clearly link to the Certbot EFF hosting provider page. I think we shouldn't entirely delete the content of the thread, but refer to the content "below" the link to the Certbot EFF site as "legacy" for example.

I agree.
Tbh I had this thought for some time now since certbot's list offered more visual features and a much better request system (PR is much easier to track than manual wiki edits).

If the URL is changed here, the forum should also send people there for an up-to-date list.
