Environment

Joplin version: Version 1.0.200
Platform: macOS
OS specifics: Version 10.15.4 (19E287)

Steps to reproduce

The equation $$\sum_{i&lt;j}$$ or inline $\sum_{i&lt;j}$ cannot be rendered. The issue seems to be the < symbol. $\sum_{i,j}$, $\sum_{ij}$, etc seem to be fine. However, if I add space in i<j, it seems works... See the screenshot.
