Sherevo Of The Day
This is MOTD Service analoge
With all respect for all old people....
- Windows, *nix or BSD based OS
- Ruby 3.x.x or higher
$ ./installer
- Install SOTD and try to execute 'sotd' binary manually. If it works well then just delete this line from your RC file, e.g. '.bashrc':
export PATH="$PATH:/home/users/sotd/"
It should look like something aforementioned but home directory of cause may be various. Just delete it and then relogin yourself or type the following command:
`source ~/.bashrc`
- There is another repo that you have to clone: https://github.com/ksukhorukov/motd.configs
Firstly go to the folder with MOTD configs and clone the repository:
cd /etc/update-motd.d
git clone https://github.com/ksukhorukov/motd.configs.git
Then terminate current SSH session and relogin again or just exit from your current terminal session and open it again.
You will see somethings like this:
Actually it's working right now. But optionally you can remove 'sotd' from your shell profile file, e.g. .bashrc. It will prevents 'sotd' from autorun from login. For instance you have this line in your profile:
export PATH="$PATH:/Users/user/workspace/sotd/"
Right after this line you will find the call of 'sotd'. And it must be deleted.
Then you have to connect MOTD with SOTD.
Firstly check if MOTD installed.
root@localhost:~# ls -la /etc/motd
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 286 Sep 29 20:00 /etc/motd
Then go to the configuration folder of MOTD, in our case it is /etc/update-motd.d and perform symbolik linking of the SOTD binary:
root@localhost:~# cd /etc/update-motd.d
root@localhost:/etc/update-motd.d# which sotd
/root/sotd/sotd
root@localhost:/etc/update-motd.d# ln -s /root/sotd/sotd ./100-sotd
root@localhost:/etc/update-motd.d# ls -la
total 20
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Jan 4 03:45 .
drwxr-xr-x 75 root root 4096 Jan 4 00:51 ..
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 373 Jan 4 00:43 00-header
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 239 Jan 4 00:43 10-body
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 15 Jan 4 03:45 100-sotd -> /root/sotd/sotd
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 84 Jan 4 03:07 90-fortune
root@localhost:/etc/update-motd.d# ./100-sotd
>> пошел нахуй
Done!
Now try to relogin to SSH session or just reopen the terminal that you are using locally...
You can see so called «sherevo» every time when you launch terminal, but you can execute the binary directly:
$ sotd
PIZDEC SHEREVO!!1
