NFL_stats

A Python toolkit for working with NFL and fantasy football statistics.

This project provides tools for collecting, processing, and analyzing NFL data to support fantasy football analysis, statistical modeling, and data exploration.

It is designed for developers, analysts, and fantasy football enthusiasts who want programmatic access to NFL statistics.

Features

  • Retrieve and process NFL statistics
  • Work with player and team data
  • Build datasets for fantasy football analytics
  • Support statistical modeling and analysis
  • Easily integrate into Python workflows

Typical use cases include:

  • Fantasy football projections
  • Player performance analysis
  • Historical stat analysis
  • Data pipelines for NFL analytics
  • Custom fantasy football tools

Installation

Clone the repository:

git clone https://github.com/killenden/NFL_stats.git
cd NFL_stats

Create a virtual environment:

python -m venv venv
source venv/bin/activate

Install dependencies (if applicable):

pip install -r requirements.txt

Quick Example

Example workflow using the library:

from nfl_stats import stats

data = stats.get_player_stats(season=2024)

print(data.head())

You can then use the dataset with libraries such as:

  • pandas
  • numpy
  • scikit-learn
  • matplotlib
  • seaborn

for further analysis and modeling.
