The next step is to discover and determine the gain of your antenna. Commercial
manufacturers will publish the gain in dBi (gain over a theoretical antenna)
or dBd (gain over a dipole) for each band they are designed to be operated on.
Look up the antenna to be assessed on the manufacturer's website. For the purposes
of the FCC Exposure Analysis, the gain must be expressed as dBi. If the published
value is dBd, add 2.2 to the gain before entering it into this form.

If the information is unknown, or the antenna is a homebrew, use the table provided
by the ARRL and the RSGB to approximate the gain.

Note: For a highly directional antenna such as a Yagi, keep in mind that this
calcuator will only provide the "worse case" scenario. It may be valuable depending
on installation location to perform more precise calculations in different directions/gains
when an antenna isn't generally rotated. Performing this is outside the scope of this calculator.
