BCF2000: midi interrupting keyboard typing

whenever the bcf is connected and enabled in the settings, I can only write single charakters in track-names, before having to select it again by clicking.
What are possible reasons for the midi-connection interrupting keyboard typing? How can i fix this?

Hi Leo,

I have checked with Bitwig 3.2.8 and latest 4.0 official (not alpha/beta), but I can't reproduce the behaviour you're describing.

Have you been using a buggy beta-release of Bitwig?
Or are you using other controller scripts in parallel which may interfere?

Hi Lennart!

Finally found some time to test this again. I’m sorry I didn’t answer you in time .. hope you still wanna help me.

A demo-video with me explaining the behavior is included in this mail.

In the meantime I checked the following, without solving the problem:

• Bitwig versions up to the latest version 4.1
• Only BCF connected, no other controllers, usb-hubs, soundcard
• Preset 28 and 29
• Re-flashing BCF preset

What I noticed and may be helpful:

• Tiping the name of a device works, names of groups and tracks not
• The basic mapping for the BCF2000 which comes with bitwig (and sucks) shows no interference with keyboard input

Please let me know when you need any other information!

Hey Leo,

thanks for the demo video. That was helpful!
Since you mentioned using a template, I finally realized I had to first save the project and reopen it in Bitwig for the weird behavior to occur.

I'm confident that I found and fixed the causing code.
Tested with my BCF2000 and the X-Touch Compact, both work fine for me.

Please give release 2.3.1 a try and let me know if it works for you, too.
