Channel list does not refresh on IM when sender not in channel list

Since I started using Slack-term I've found that if someone messages me who isn't on my channel list I will be notified by email only and will have to quit and reopen slack-term to see the message.

To get this straight, this is a message on a channel to which you are not subscribed to? Or is it an IM from someone that isn't in the list?
