[FR] Allow Manual Sort in Subfolders / Favorites / Notes

Describe the feature

Love the manual sort feature, but was wondering if it's possible to also do manual sorting for nested sub folders and/or notes?

Why would this be useful?

For subfolders - it would be extremely useful to organize how we want access and interact with the notes. I use an Inbox folder as a first stop filing cabinet, then review that to clean it up, and it'd be great to have that on top.

For notes - it's probably not used as much as subfolders, but I can see it being helpful if combined with something like a pinned list, where you can automatically or manually sort pinned notes already on the list.

Right now I'm using Custom File Explorer sorting to achieve this with sortspec, but would be fantastic to just use NN instead.

Yes, please. The Manual Sorting plugin comes very close to being the perfect implementation of manual sorting, but the missing feature is to be able to choose sorting by folder - it's either all manual, or all automatic. Down to the note level would be useful, e.g. for a folder of notes that are arranged in order of events.

Maybe, but not short-term. It's a huge job architecturally. Right now NN is a very thin interface to obsidian, this means basically building a complete wrapper to the entire vault. I'm not even sure I want that. Added to wiki / backlog. 👍
