Paste Text additional features (cancel, type speed/cadence, keymap, etc.)

This issue relates to the "paste from host" feature, which shows a textbox the user can paste text into, and have the KVM type it on the target machine.

Can't cancel text input

While that's not usually a problem, it's inevitable that somebody will try to paste the whole Bee Movie script with the feature¹ and need to stop it again.

While we should make them sit there and watch the whole thing type into the console, being able to stop it would be rather useful.

Text typing speed

The default speed is fine for most systems, but it may be worth having the option to slow down the typing speed, especially in environments such as UEFI setups, or something like the Windows BitLocker recovery screen, where you often need to type slower.

Text typing speed

I don’t think this aligns with what Jonathan from Discord experienced. Based on the screenshot, it seems more likely to be a keyboard map mismatch (see #30).

That said, this is still a useful feature. Users have also requested other related settings, such as options for keyboard layout, typing speed, or even simulating human writing cadence—and there are likely more we haven’t considered yet.

This could justify introducing a dedicated settings area within the Popover. For example, we could add a small cog icon in the top-right corner that opens a settings menu directly inside the Popover.

And yeah I think putting a setting menu that's accessed via the popover is the best option, makes sure these options are easy to reach, especially for the keymap as users may need to change that relatively often while jumping between machines they're provisioning.

I have an additional paste suggestion. Some basic scripting features like a "JETKVM sleep 10s" and "JETKVM pause" which would wait for the user to click a button to continue. Could be useful for automating some things in a terminal. Could be enabled with a checkbox for advance mode otherwise pasted as is.

Looking over DS would work fine, though some features are probably overkill at least for what I was thinking. Maybe someone else would find the full DS useful though.

Yeah absolutely, my idea is, if we're going to bother putting a scripting language in, it might as well be an industry standard one. Saves arguing over syntax, and makes other duckyscripts compatible, if this is something that has general support i think it should be a new issue
