don't submit when pasting text with a newline into e.g. commit message

when in the commit title field i paste text that happened to accidentally include a newline, lazygit currently confirms the commit title, performing the actual commit.

Describe the solution you'd like

either:

• ignore newlines
• replace them with spaces
• spill over content after newlines into the commit description

Describe alternatives you've considered
check extra well to ensure the commit message i'm pasting in doesn't like contain a trailing newline

i like to still check my message to maybe edit it further, before submitting

This was fixed in #4234, which was released with 0.46. If this doesn't work for you, either you are using an older version, or you are using a terminal emulator that doesn't support bracketed paste (all the ones I tested do, though).

It helps to add information about your current version and the platform you are on with every issue that you post, to reduce the amount of questions we need to ask back.

What was it though? Did you use an older version, or does your terminal emulator not support it? If so, which one is that, and on which platform? It is helpful for us to know about these things.

looks like i was still on an older version 😅 - should have probably checked the git version before reporting
