Aidan Wilson is a linguist, researcher, technologist, coder, and father. He works across a number of technologies, primarily in the academic research sector. He leads a team of independent Digital Research Analysts delivering research services and support to HDR students and staff researchers from Australian universities. We Digital Research Analysts work to bridge the gaps between technology and people. This gulf is ever-increasing as technology continues to evolve.
Aidan has a particular focus on REDCap, an application to facilitate the collection of form-level data, including personal and health information. He has developed external modules (REDCap's community-contributed plugins) and contributed to the REDCap codebase directly.
In 2023, Aidan was awarded the REDCap Consortium's Most Valuable Player award, recognising his contribution to the community.
Throughout his research, Aidan contributed to the PARADISEC project. PARADISEC is a resource to store and manage digital linguistic, ethnographic and musicological media, and provide access to thsoe materials to researchers, enthusiasts, and communities. During his time at PARADISEC, Aidan helped design the infrastructure and systms that now receives frequent international recognition for its importance and historical significance.
