Hello,

I am trying to install a tool using npx on my Windows 11 system, but I'm encountering an error.

The command I ran was:
claude mcp add gemini-cli -- npx -y gemini-mcp-tool

And the error message I received is:
error: unknown option '-y'

Could you please help me understand why this error is occurring and how I can fix it?

Hey,

First, may be an obvious one, but ensure you have Claude code installed globally.
Then try "claude mcp get gemini-cli", if nothing appears, then its not installed.

In terms of the command not working, First I recommend you try this:

claude mcp add gemini-cli -- npx gemini-mcp-tool

Furthermore, if you are a Claude Desktop user, the configs are simpler:

"gemini-cli": {
        "command": "npx",
        "args": ["-y", "gemini-mcp-tool"]
    },

Now if all of that does not work, ill be happy to investigate farther. Let me know how it goes.
