For the grid system, I think I have the same problem.

1. Using this image: https://vxresource.wordpress.com/2010/07/05/biggest-iconset-ever/

all the icons are 24x24 and aligned on x24 boundaries. However, when selecting a picture, the auto-detection takes the smallest bound and I have to make some computations to re-align them on the 24x24 grid.

Just being able to have the auto detection stick to the closest grid multiple would be huge!
