[Mountain Duck] Cannot have Safari download to a Mounted Nextcloud server. "Cannot Move File"

I have all of my MacOS and iOS devices setup to share the same Downloads folder that is located on my Nextcloud server.

When downloading files in safari it creates a temp directory ending in .download. for example Firefox.dmg.download. How do I get Mountain Duck to ignore these .download directories? It's causing all Safari downloads to fail with "Cannot Move File".

There must be an ignore or filter option somewhere? I read over the docs several times and saw no mention of any such feature.

I was using the official Nextcloud VFS client for a while now and it had no issues dealing with this. But ever since MacOS Sequoia it's been pretty unreliable, and with the most recent MacOS update it just stopped working entirely. MD is so much faster, but this is a really big issue for how I use it.

We have a hidden property for files excluded from sync but it currently lacks a setting in Preferences. You can change it by following this tutorial and adding temporary .download files from Firefox to the list of excluded files with the pattern .*\\.download.

It was really confusing seeing a whole page for setting hidden options, yet nowhere could I find what options can be set…

unfortunately this doesn't seem to have helped. I notice Im having the same issue with anythin that creates temp files in this way, not just Safari. Keka, which is an archive manager uses a ".kextraction" file, and Im having the same issue with it.

I cannot reproduce issues with creating an archive using Keka or downloading a file from Firefox to a volume. Please provide a debug log output.

I made a new empty folder, set it as the default download location in Safari and tried to download a program called "Preform".

The filename is PreForm_3.47.1.508.dmg. The download completes but im left with PreForm_3.47.1.508.dmg.download. If I right click the .download and select "Show Package Contents", then I can see the fully downloaded file is there.

I installed MD on a different MacOS system and am having the exact same issue on that one too.

Both systems are Intel running Sequoia 15.4.1

There must be something I can do to fix this? I've never had this issue using MD in the past. Both systems likely had MD installed in the past at some point.

If you could tell me every file or directory I would need to delete to completely remove any trace of MD from my system, then I can try Installing it again completely fresh.
